Wireless Theatre KIDS is a branch of the multi award winning Wireless Theatre Company, an online audio theatre company launched in 2007 to encourage people to listen to radio drama on their iPods and personal MP3 players.  After establishing a strong reputation for producing top quality radio downloads, WTC quickly realised the importance of using audio theatre in education. In 2008 WTC launched its Wireless Theatre In Education Programme, offering workshops in schools around the country. Many young people at these workshops had never even heard a radio play! 

Audio drama can be a wonderful teaching aid, whether you are studying the classics and looking for a different way of exploring the text, or just seeking something to play to your class during quiet time, Wireless Theatre KIDS are working hard to produce a large and varied collection of radio theatre which will help your lessons. From traditional fairytales to full length dramas tackling issues that young people may face today. We aim to produce a large out-put of multi-cultural stories and plays, as well as simply entertaining and stimulating short downloads for very young children. 

Wireless Theatre KID's goal is to develop a love of theatre and literature within those aged 3 to 15 years, to develop communication and vocabulary and stimulate imagination and creativity. We also hope to help those who may struggle with the written word, or may not have access to reading material by bringing them a comprehensive library of audio entertainment.

As well as, producing audio extracts of Shakespeare texts selected for GCSE and 'A' Level National Curriculum pupils, allowing them to experience the language as spoken, supporting English and English literature courses. Bringing Shakespeare to life often helps students understand the language of these texts, making them accessible and enjoyable. 

We are just in the studio at the moment recording some key Shakespeare scenes!

We have worked closely with teachers and parents to create an ever growing library of radio plays for children of all ages.
