Wireless Theatre KIDS In Education

We offer workshops in schools in London - whether it be with drama students, in English classes or for after school clubs - we can tailor make sessions to suit your group. The sessions cover radio acting (and the differences between it and acting for other mediums), studio etiquette, microphone technique and characterisation. Including (if desired) a short 'audio visual performance' by the team, demonstrating a recording in a studio followed by a question and answer session with the pupils and then a chance to get on the mics and feel it for themselves, working with text of your choice.

This can also be followed with a recording in a professional studio with us, and a final edit of your production available to download from the Wireless Theatre KIDS website.

2010/11 Education News:

In May 2011 we visited Future Faces Theatre School in  Chelmsford to work with the children on some radio drama skills. We worked with three groups - 11-15yrs, 8-10yrs and 5-7 yrs. We had a great time and so did the children. We can't wait to go back and work in the studio with them! At the end of 2010 we visited East 15 Acting School to talk with their "Acting for TV, Film and Radio" course. We worked through microphone technique, comedy performance for radio and what they should expect when working in a studio.

At the end of 2010 we visited West Thames College again to work with their HND students.  They then came into the studio to record a script written especially for them, by Ray Gallon.
